U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) officials have said the number of people in the U.R.M.B. who are in danger of being deported because of their faith is “staggering.”UNHCR’s deputy spokesperson, Nadia Bekrar, said Monday that a majority of people are still fleeing persecution.
Bekkar said that the numbers indicate that many Muslims are living in fear.
The United Kingdom has been facing increased violence and discrimination from anti-Muslim sentiment in the United States.
