Religion in Greece is largely defined by its beliefs and practices, which have been based on the beliefs and rituals of ancient Greeks, with the majority of people being Christian, Muslim, Jewish, Buddhist, Hindu and Taoist.
Some people do not practise any religion at all, but many others do.
Some Christians are followers of a group of people called the “Golden Dawn” who are considered heretical and hate them.
The Golden Dawn is considered a criminal organisation by the authorities, and is banned in Greece.
Many of its members are currently in prison awaiting trial.
